Prof. Yuan received his B.S. degree from Xi’an Jiaotong University in 1999，and received his PhD degree from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2005. He worked at Shenzhen institute of advanced technology (SIAT) since 2006, where he served as deputy director of R&D department. He was appointed as deputy director of Guangzhou Institute of Advanced Technology (GIAT), one branch institute of SIAT, since 2013 and been promoted as director since 2017. In 2020，he was also been appointed as deputy director of shenzhen institute of synthetic biology and chief engineer of shenzhen synthetic biology infrastructure. His research interests include software engineering, automation and intelligent control. Based on his research work, he has published over 20 papers and acquired over 40 patents.
Research focus: by integrating information technology and biotechnology, we aim to develop standards, algorithms, and processes of the synthetic biology infrastructure, and to achieve the full automation, intelligence and informatization of it. Which will accelerate the research progress of synthetic biology area. Join us, we build the future together.
