Nottingham Ningbo China was invited to visit Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology Chinese Academy of Sciences .Jianping Fan, director of the Preparatory Office of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Patrick Chau, Vice President of the University of Nottingham Ningbo, signed an agreement on joint training of doctoral students on behalf of the two parties. Alain Chong, Dean of Ningnuo Graduate School, Wei Feng , Deputy Director of the Preparatory Office and Secretary of the Disciplinary Committee of Shenzhen Advanced Institute, Rong Sun , Director of Material Institute of Shenzhen Advanced Institute, Xuefeng Yu, Deputy Director, Lei Wang, Deputy Director of the Institute of Medical Engineering, Fan Yang, Deputy Director of Education Department (Presiding over the work) and representatives of related training instructors attended the ceremony.
At the signing ceremony, the two parties conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on the preparation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the integration of science and education, and the internationalization of schools. Patrick Chau said that he is looking forward to the next cooperation with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the two sides will further strengthen cooperation in the fields of discipline construction and scientific research achievements based on the joint training of doctoral students. Jianping Fan expressed his gratitude to the University of Nottingham Ningbo China for its strong support to the Chinese Academy of Sciences in student training, and to jointly cultivate high-level doctoral talents with an international perspective. The joint training agreement signed with the University of Nottingham Ningbo China is the first inter-university cooperation agreement signed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Shenzhen Polytechnic. According to the agreement, the two parties will conduct joint training of doctoral students in the fields of biomedical engineering, composite materials, power electronic engineering, machinery and control, advanced and intelligent manufacturing, artificial intelligence and optimization, big data analysis and information systems, advanced energy and environmental materials, etc. , the students will study and carry out scientific research together in the two schools, and will receive a doctorate degree from the University of Nottingham in the UK after graduation. The two parties will jointly develop an innovative doctoral training system and cultivate high-level talents with international perspectives.
