Engineering biology utilizes the knowledge from molecular understanding of natural life systems, and the engineering principles to design, build, test, and also learn from, artificial life systems, for advanced therapies, advanced materials, green manufacturing processes for chemicals, and advanced storage solutions for information.
We will offer a bachelor’s degree in biology or in synthetic biology and we will also offer a master’s degree and a doctor‘s degree in synthetic biology. The required courses include advanced mathematics, advanced algebra, organic chemistry, physical chemistry, biochemistry, cellular and molecular biology, and the subject core courses include genetic circuit and module design, advanced metabolic engineering, genome design and synthesis, and machine learning and deep learning.
