ABOUT SynBio Faculty

The Faculty of Synthetic Biology is based on biological sciences, featuring engineering biology, and supporting technology. Currently, it has set up the Department of Biological Sciences, the Department of Engineering Biology, the Center for Advanced Interdisciplinary of Synthetic Biology Research and ten special programs（Quantitative Biology, Genome Engineering, Cell Engineering,Microbial Synthetic Biology, Synthetic Biosensors, Synthetic immunology, Organ Engineering, Materials Synthetic Biology, Information synthetic biology, AI-aided Biodesign&Automation）Among them, two departments provide students with degree courses; ten specail programs provide students with interest-oriented learning and scientific research and innovation activities; the Center for Advanced Interdisciplinary of Synthetic Biology Research relies on world-class scientific research platforms such as major scientific and technological facilities for synthetic biology, and explores cooperation with the different faculties and institutes of SIAT, through the practice of interdisciplinary activities, expand students’ scientific knowledge and enhance students’ innovative ability.
